What's Cooking
June finish 2026
July is here! Very hot everywhere, lots going on with soccer, holiday, vacations, air conditioner deciding to need repair. Needing a motor that needed to be ordered. Week wait.
Fernbank continues with joy. This is the summer of Dinos so a dino skull for fun pictures. Of course I posed. And I volunteered for summer camp, watched the T Rex Imax movie, slightly scary.
Continuing with my morning walking and enjoying it. Not too many flowers now but these are starting to fill in.
Path affirmations too.
Another knitting group cake, not overly summery but very, very delicious. It was devoured too quickly for photos.
My porch planters. Only two this year, some red for hummingbirds, basil and thyme for me.
I splurged on very cute tomato ramekins.
Cherries are delicious this year, they’ve been very reasonably priced and I encourage you to make this burrata salad! Husband not a cherry fan so just made a bit for me.
Cheddar chive scones, with porch chives, great for breakfast and also with asparagus leek crustless quiche. I did not use hot honey.
A few salmon meals, sheet pan salmon, delicious salmon bowls. Corn is also great this year and this corn chowder was delicious. Chowder is not very photogenic.
Since my friend Jane posted this recipe, I’ve been drooling and finally made them. Good holiday burger. Very, very messy and very worth the mess.
Finally a pretty easy but several steps breakfast casserole. Very good, I divided it into three foil containers and will freeze one, maybe two.
No holiday plans. Not a fan of crowds. Camp volunteering again Friday. Hoping for knitting, reading, relaxing time.
